Free Plant stand and Planter Box plans

Nine pot plant stand This sturdy little stand is perfect for your deck or patio. It’s got room for your favorite plants and it doesn’t take up a lot of space. When the weather gets cold, you can easily bring it, and a bit of summertime, indoors.

3-Tiered Plant Stand My wife wanted something on which to put some of her many outdoor plants. I had enough pressure treated lumber in the scrap bin so with her loose dimensions I began cutting up lumber.

A Lightweight, Easy-To-Move Planter For Your Deck Or Patio Looking to dress up your deck, patio or front porch with some greenery, but don’t want to hire a landscape designer or pay the hefty retail prices stores want for wooden planters?

Window Box Planter A window-box planter--like the one featured in this project--is a great way to add detail to a home's exterior. It can camouflage off-center windows and add appeal to an uninteresting facade. It even adds beauty and color with the addition of plants and flowers. Although window-box planters were once a common feature on many homes of the past, they're rarely found on today's homes.

Backyard Planters: Big & Small The simplest planters consist of edging for flower or vegetable beds. In the past, many used recycled railroad ties for this, and they still add a distinctive rustic appeal to garden beds. In recent years, however, pressure-treated landscaping timbers have become increasingly popular. These are also very easy to use to create bed edges, or even to build up permanent planters. Railroad ties usually have enough weight to stay in place when used in a single layer as an edging material. Landscaping timbers are usually smaller and they can be shifted by the weight of the soil in the planter. Even railroad timbers can shift in time. One solution is to bore holes down through the timbers or ties and drive 12-inch long sections of 3/8-inch concrete reinforcing rod down through the wood and into the ground. Make sure you set the ends of the rods below the wood surface so no rough metal edges protrude.
